Impact of my Environment and Practice and my ARP
I have been working at my elementary school for about 12 years now. It truly is a rewarding experience for me, and provides me the unique opportunity to share my knowledge with others. As a teacher for so many years now, I have been able to help parents in finding ways to get more involved with their children. The majority of the parents I speak to are very receptive, which allows for continued dialogue in terms of parent communication and involvement of the learning community.
Learning Experience Goals
I recently have had a learning experience that has allowed me to learn how to effetively teach ESL to my students. Our district has adopted a new program that implements new methods to teach ESL. We were recently trained on how to use the program, and the goals were explicitly described to us. Having the goals described clearly allowed the teachers to understand the reasons behind the implementation of the program, and become aware of its importance.
